 Ashtanga Yoga A unique combination of strong, flowing movement and dynamic breathing, which creates a high heat, high energy workout. The practice is very suiting to modern life because rather then trying to slow down into stillness by an act of will, Ashtanga yoga allows the practitioner to harness the speed and flow of the mind and use rhythm and consistency to harmonise and stabilise it. Pilates: Pilates emphasises slow, controlled movements, rhythmic breathing, and concentration- a challenging class for core strength and stability. Pilates exercises strengthen the body’s "core" muscles in the abdomen, buttocks, and lower back while improving flexibility and strength.

 Yoga for Pregnancy Helps to prepare the body for childbirth It has a calming effect that promotes emotional well-being at a time of fluctuating emotions. It helps to keep the body supple and aligned while it changes to accommodate your baby. And it gives you great breath awareness and how to use it to aid relaxation during labour. Yoga helps you to connect with your unborn baby.

Post-Natal Yoga For Mum & Baby (6 weeks - 8 months)

Yoga postures induce deep relaxation in adults, in babies they bring a state of deep contentment and promote deep sleep.Post natal yoga concentrates on strengthening the abdominal muscles which were overstretched during pregnancy, including gentle twists which help shrink the uterus.

 Date:     Fridays-next class begins Friday 3rd September

Indian Head Massage

Indian Head Massage is one of the most relaxing and versatile forms of massage-A valuable ancient skill for instant relaxation in this stressful world.

This is an intensive 3 day course and Case studies are required between week 1 and week 2. Case Studies - 2 Clients 3 Times
Please bring 1 large and 1 small towel to class

Participants will learn:

  • History and benefits of Ayurveda and Indian Head Massage.
  • Indian Head Massage techniques for upper back, neck and shoulders, head and face.
  • Variations of techniques for recipients in sitting, lying and reclining positions.
  • Chakras and the energy field.
  • Use of oils in Indian Head Massage
  • Cautions and contra-indications for Indian Head Massage,
  • Consultation and Professional Conduct.
    This course is suitable for complete beginners, for anyone considering a diploma course in Massage, or for qualified therapists who wish to expand their skills.
