An Introduction to the Art of Mindfulness with Foinnuala Gill
Being mindful means being fully present in the here and now.
It is the practice of slowing down and paying attention - so that we don’t miss the precious moments in our lives and can equally learn to deal more effectively with those times that may be stressful.
Amidst the demands and fast pace of modern life this gentle afternoon workshop, lead by Mindfulness teacher Fionnuala Gill, brings us the opportunity to explore ways to regain our inner balance. Gentle mindfulness exercises such as meditation and mindful movement* will be incorporated, giving participants the chance to experience first-hand how the cultivation of mindfulness can serve to enhance every aspect of our lives. *Participants are requested to bring a yoga mat/towel and blanket to the workshop.
Fionnuala Gill has an Honours degree in Psychology from Trinity College Dublin and is an accomplished musician and Reiki practitioner. She is authorized to teach Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) under the supervision of The Institute for Mindfulness Based Approaches (IMA) in Germany and will be running an eight week MBSR course at Tree of Life beginning in May 2010.
