An extended yoga class to support and nourish Friday 24th March 7:30pm-9pm
Service Description
A 90 minute extended class especially designed for women in premenopause, perimenpause or who are post-menopausal. This class will help you to move through these natural stages of menopause, relieve stress and help you feel yourself again. It is suitable for those with yoga experience but it is not required. Menopause and perimenopause affects 50% of the population at some point in their lives and symptoms often present a lot younger than expected. The perimenopausal stage can last for 15 years! During this time in life, there is a natural decline of estrogen and other sex hormones which can significantly affect a woman’s health. Symptoms include hot flushes, night sweats, sleep problems, low mood, memory problems and loss of libido or changes in vaginal health. Many more possible symptoms can be present too-not really surprising considering there are estrogen receptors in EVERY single cell in your body. Hormonal changes can be overwhelming and even debilitating for some and can cause physical and mental stress and even depression. It is estimated that 20% of women don't notice any symptoms, 60% notice a moderate or manageable level of symptoms and 20% suffer a debilitating level of symptoms. Practicing Yoga as part of adopting a healthier lifestyle can really help us cope with the changes we are going through. Claire has been teaching since 2007. She is specifically trained in pregnancy and postnatal yoga, fertility yoga, kids yoga, chair yoga and of course, Yoga for the stages of menopause. Claire received a diagnoses of early menopause in her mid thirties and experienced huge physical and mental changes as a result. She found adapting and changing her yoga practice helped her manage her symptoms better and move through this challenging stage of life with with with more optimism, acceptance and wisdom. She is delighted to be able to share this practice with other women on a similar journey. Whether you approach menopause from a holistic mind-set, take HRT, whether you have mild, moderate or severe symptoms you can benefit from practicing yoga. Focus on building muscle mass and bone health with weight bearing exercise and well as reducing the fire in the body (Pitta) with slow, mindful movement. Claire will guide you through pranayama (breathwork) practices, and support you with restorative yoga and deep relaxation. €30 plus booking fee

We operate a 24 hour cancellation policy. Therefore, if a booking is cancelled within 24 hours of the appointment time, the full price will be charged. Please note we cannot accept bookings overnight between 12am and 7am.
