As it generally includes holding poses for longer periods of time rather than constant movement, it's a great choice for both beginners and students who prefer a more relaxed style of Yoga which leaves you in a state of relaxation and inner stillness.
Yin & Restorative Yoga
Yin is a gently challenging style of yoga that works through passive stretching, holding poses for several minutes at a time which are mostly performed on the floor. The purpose is Yin Yoga is to relax your body and mind through an initial state of resistance, allowing you to go deeper in postures which target not only the muscles but also the connective tissue in the body including ligaments, bones, and joints. This way, it offers much deeper access to our bodies and minds that we tend to neglect. Yin Yoga reminds us to embrace mild challenges and embody our nature as human 'be - ing's.
