Bending over Backwards Yoga Workshop
This workshop will explore some fundamental principles and techniques of backbending. Exploring the importance of preparatory poses of shoulder openers and heart openers, we will move through a sequence of warm ups and gentle backbending postures, whilst building towards the stronger, more challenging backbends of Camel Pose and Wheel Pose. We will conclude the workshop with two restorative backbends which will help to calm the mind, whilst creating a wonderful sense of opening in the body.
Benefits of backbends: improves posture by counteracting rounding of shoulders, increases spine flexibility and mobility, can help to alleviate back pain, stretches abdominal muscles, energises the body and can improve breathing.
